Confusion of regarding CISCE, CBSE 12th Board Exams 2021 and other state boards continues. After a plea in Supreme Court seeking cancellation of exams, an intervention application has been filed against the same. Reportedly, a teacher from Kerala has filed an Intervention in SC against the PIL seeking cancellation of Class 12 board exams.

As per reports, the maths teacher in Kerala has voiced concerns over the request to cancel the exams, calling it unfair to the students. He has further asked that the Board should not even consider cancelling but instead find a way to conduct the exams safely.

The intervention comes after a plea was filed by Advocate Mamta Sharma seeking cancellation of Class 12 Board Exams of CBSE, CISCE and other boards. Recently, a Parents Association also wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi, requesting him to cancel the pending board exams.

Pending CBSE 12th Board Exams along with other Class 12 board exams (Maharashtra HSC, ISC, Odisha HSE, etc.) have been the point of concern over the past few weeks. Students and parents have been voicing their fear over the safety amid the rising number of cases as well as deaths.

On the other end of the spectrum, academicians as well as the boards have maintained a stand for the importance of the examinations. The teacher’s intervention application resonates the thought of many academicians and teachers who have pointed out the long term repercussions of cancelling board exams.

Apart from University admissions, academicians have also raised point that few states like Bihar and Kerala have already conducted exams. Cancellation, in turn, they say, raises concerns over equity. Decision, it now seems, would be on Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, Education Ministry and CBSE have shared that no decision has been taken in regards the pending board examinations. Other boards like Maharashtra, Odisha, CISCE, etc. have also not shared any updates. Karnataka, on the other hand, has reiterated that board SSLC (10th) and 12th Board Exams 2021 would be conducted in due course of time.
